It’s been over six months since I posted even a word about the Read Harder Challenge that I am (apparently) doing this year. The key word in that sentence is the one in brackets: apparently. Turns out, I’m not great at reading challenges. Actually, let me rephrase that, I’m ok at the actually reading part of the challenge, but I’m terrible at reporting my progress.
I had all these grand plans to write a proper review for every book I read as part of the challenge, but seeing as I haven’t posted about the challenge since May, I think we can safely assume that I didn’t quite achieve that. The problem is that I’m quite selective about the books I write a review for and some of the challenge reads turned out to be books that, once finished, I didn’t want to have to think about again (I’m looking at you Swan Book).
I managed to get through 16 of the 24 categories, so that’s probably a C+ or maybe even a B-, which aint too bad right?
I know there are still a couple of weeks left of the year, but I’m realistic enough to know that I am probably not going to get to any of the remaining categories. The final weeks of the year are all about that final push to clear some of the TBR pile so that I can start the new year fresh, and there aint no microhistories in my TBR (mostly, because I still don’t really know what they are…).
How have other people’s reading challenges gone this year? Better than mine I hope…
